Aims:  

This course aims to: 

  • Provide a solid introduction to the UK VAT rules that apply to businesses operating in the leisure, recreational and holiday market such as: 

  • Hotel & B&B businesses, 

  • Holiday Lettings, 

  • Summer Camps (inc Educational) 

  • Caravan Park operators, 

  • Tourist Attraction Operators. 

  • Identify where the Tour Operators Margin Scheme may impact on activities, 

  • Equip participants to be able to identify VAT issues in a timely manner including VAT registration requirements. 

 

Content:

This course aims to introduce delegates to the way in which VAT works across the Tourism & Leisure sector. Its content is broadly drawn so as to ensure a basic understanding of the VAT liabilities of income is obtained and the requirement for VAT registration and day to day VAT accounting. The training methods will be presentation led with practical examples and a relaxed approach to allow questions to be asked as issues arise.  

The round table discussion format encourages participants to share common practical concerns and experiences.
